We started Fabriq Star to take the stress out of dressing an entire bridal party — women and men alike — without anyone compromising on quality or waiting until the last week to find their fit. Aso-ebi is our forte, and every order we complete is a small act of keeping a tradition alive for the next celebration, and the one after that.
Nigerian-born, American-raised, Ugo Oruada founded Fabriq Star after seeing first-hand how difficult it was for families abroad to source authentic, high-quality aso-ebi fabric and tailoring without traveling home to do it. What started as helping friends and family became a studio trusted by clients across the country — with features in Bella Naija and Igbankwu Nigeria, and even a costume credit on a major Hollywood production.
Every collection since has carried the same instruction Ugo gives every atelier she works with: make it feel like home.
Growing up between two worlds — the Nigeria her family carried with them, and the America she was raised in — Ugo learned early that fabric was never just fabric. It was the thing that made a wedding feel like home even when home was thousands of miles away. That feeling is what Fabriq Star was built to hold onto: the sense that no matter where her clients are getting dressed, they're still standing in the same colour as everyone they love.
